Holden Colorado Space Cab recalled for rear seatbelt fix

Holden’s high-riding Colorado ute has been recalled this week over concerns that one of two rear seatbelt fasteners could be missing on some models.

The potential danger centres on a bolt that helps to secure the anchor bracket of the rear seatbelt buckles of Space Cab models with second-row ‘jump seats’.

In the event of a collision, its absence could present an increased risk of injury to occupants.

Holden believes this bolt may not have been installed on some Colorado Extended Cab models built between September 2011 and June 2015, for the model years 2012 to 2016.

The Vehicle Identification Numbers of affected models range from MMU142ED0CH600065 to MMU145DK0GH607082.

The recall affects approximately 4228 vehicles in Australia and 350 in New Zealand.

Holden has confirmed it will write to affected owners.

This latest recall for the Colorado follows one announced in April for both the Colorado utility and its Colorado 7 SUV sibling for an electrical fault that could result in an engine bay fire.
