2015 Honda City Limited Edition launches from $19,490

A new Honda City Limited Edition variant has been added to the local line-up.

The City Limited Edition is priced from $19,490 plus on-road costs, positioning it $1500 above the entry-level City VTi on which it’s based.

Compared with the VTi, the 2015 Honda City Limited Edition gains 15-inch alloy wheels (VTi gets steel 15s), front sports grille and Modulo rear spoiler, standard metallic/pearl-effect paint (a $495 option on VTi), a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, and four extra tweeters for the audio system, joining the VTi’s four regular speakers.

The additional features come on top of those already standard in the City VTi including cruise control and the Display Audio system, which incorporates a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming, HDMI connectivity allowing satellite navigation streaming, Siri Eyes Free voice control technology, a multi-angle reverse-view camera, two USB ports, and a CD player.

The Honda City Limited Edition is available exclusively with an automatic continuously variable transmission. The CVT sends power from the City’s 88kW/145Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine to the car’s front wheels. Combined cycle fuel consumption is rated at 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres.

Honda says about 300 City Limited Edition models will be available to local customers.

The Honda City is performing well in the sales charts this year. The company has registered 1037 units, up 57.1 per cent. This puts it ahead of the Mitsubishi Mirage sedan (679).
