Kahn Flying Huntsman Pickup adds aggro to Land Rover Defender ute

Kahn Design has revealed its latest Land Rover Defender-based vehicle, the Kahn Flying Huntsman Pickup.

As with the Flying Huntsman 6x6 concept, which was revealed earlier this year by Kahn, the Flying Huntsman Pickup features a heavily modified body and structure that's still recognisably related to the Land Rover Defender ute on which its based.

According to Kahn, the Huntsman Pickup's bonnet is 400mm longer than the regular ute. The Kahn-modified ute is also 150mm wider than the original car and, as such, features wider front and rear wings with new vents.

Up front, the Flying Huntsman features a new set of headlights, different bumpers and a reworked grille. The car has an uprated braking package, and rides on a modified suspension setup and 18-inch matte black alloy wheels.

The wheelbase has grown around 127mm (5 inches) to about 2920mm. Under the extended hood is a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing around 78kW of power. The cabin is said to be equipped with racing seats and an upgraded dashboard.

If the look of the Kahn Flying Huntsman Pickup appeals, be prepared for a little bit of sticker shock as UK pricing starts from 58,875 pounds ($114,000). That's a massive step up from car it's based on, the Defender 110 ute, which is priced at 24,165 pounds ($46,800) on-the-road in the UK.

The Defender ute is not currently available for sale in Australia.
