BMW celebrates 40th anniversary Sebring win with CSL inspired Z4 GTLM

BMW Z4 GTLM will tackle this year's Sebring 12 Hour sporting classic tri-colour livery, celebrating the marque's first-ever victory at the US endurance race in 1975.

Featuring the same blue, purple and red livery as was used on the famous 3.0 CSL 'Batmobile', the 2015 BMW Z4 GTLM features a 365kW/480Nm 4.4-litre V8 engine - a big change from the classic BMW E9's 3.0-litre straight-six.

The winning drivers of car #25 in 1975, Brian Redman, Sam Posey and Hans-Joachim Stuck, were present to unveil the new livery ahead of the March 21 race.

Locally, the BMW Z4 sDrive35is - the range's $119,075 performance flagship - is powered by a 250kW/450Nm twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder.
