2015 Subaru Forester pricing and specifications

The Forester diesel CVT is available in two specification levels: the 2.0D-L at $35,490 plus on-road costs, and the 2.0D-S at $42,490.

Subaru Australia has cut the price of other variants in the 2015 Forester range by between $1500 and $3500. The cuts come on top of January’s reduction of $1000 across the range as a result of Australia’s free trade agreement with Japan.

Subaru has axed the entry-level 2.0i and 2.5i variants from the updated line-up, meaning the range now starts $1000 higher than before, though at $29,990, the Forester 2.0i-L manual is $2500 cheaper than before.

All variants benefit from a new infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touchscreen that recognises smartphone-style flick, pinch and double-tap actions. Pandora internet radio integration also features across the line-up.

The 2015 Forester’s enhanced voice recognition system now understands phrase- and dialogue-based commands, allowing drivers to specify navigation destinations by speaking the address, directly select call recipients or search for them by spoken phrase, and understand spoken song titles without specifying the artist name.

Subaru also claims to have paid extra attention to detail inside the cabin, with the centre panel controls, steering wheel and air vents all getting fresh finishes. New piano black surfaces and silver accents also feature across the updated dashboard.

All CVT Foresters get a new transmission control unit, and Subaru claims the updates result in less noise and better response.

Refinements to the diesel engine add to its efficiency, while every Forester is now compliant with Euro 6 emissions standards.
