South Korean company to build EVs in the US

South Korean company CT&T, founded in 2002 by ex-Hyundai executive Young Gi Lee, says it has plans to enter the US market with a low-speed electric vehicle designed for cities and gated communities.


The outfit says it will also manufacture the vehicles within the United States employing as many as 2600 workers by 2014.

The company produces two models at present the two-seater e-zone (as pictured) and c-zone light utility. Prices range from US$8000 to US$16,000.

CT&T says it also plans to manufacture batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles in the United States and market them to other manufacturers.
