CarAdvice has received exclusive leaked patent images of the 2015 Ford Ranger line-up ahead of the ute's local launch in the third quarter of this year.
The leaked images show the entire model range including cab-chassis variants of the single-cab, super-cab and double-cab, along with their respective pick-up variants.
These images show that the Ranger will continue offering the same body layouts, but will gain the styling changes that see it morph from its current design to include styling cues from the larger Ford F-150 utility.
Inside the cabin, our earlier spy shots indicate Ford will use its SYNC2 entertainment system, which will bring the Ranger in line with some of its competitors.
Driveline upgrades developed for the Everest may also flow through to the ute, including a new turbocharger for the 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and a re-calibrated six-speed automatic transmission.
With Ranger sales growing by 20 per cent in 2014, the ute remains one of Ford Australia's best selling vehicles. There is little doubt that Ford is extremely eager to release this model locally, with sales likely to commence closer to the end of the year following its predicted unveiling at the 2015 Bangkok motor show later this month.
Do you think the Ranger still has an aggressive design and will the new design help it maintain sales success in Australia?
