2015 Ford Everest:: base model interior spied
The interior of what appears to be an entry-level 2015 Ford Everest has been snapped while the upcoming SUV was out test in Melbourne ahead of its launch later this year.
Caught by a CarAdvice reader, the images are the first we've seen of the base model's cabin. Compared with previously spied high-specification models, which will feature Ford's Sync 2 multimedia system, the vehicle spotted here appears to be an entry-level variant that seemingly misses out on Sync 2 in lieu of a smaller LCD screen.
Also visible in the shots is a rotary dial that will be the Everest's off-road driving mode selection mechanism, along with a hill-descent control function.
The interior is likely to look similar to the updated 2015 Ford Ranger, which is due to go on sale in Australia shortly, and was also recently spotted testing in Victoria.
The Everest shares the same body-on-frame construction as the Ranger, but is expected to offer a more car-oriented drive and feel behind the wheel.
Our previous Everest photographs of mid- and high-specification cars showed front and rear parking sensors on the former with additional side parking sensors on the latter, hinting at semi-automatic parking or blind-spot monitoring.
The vehicle pictured here appears to be sans any parking sensors, or a reversing camera. Though that could mean missing features for the future model, the vehicle pictured may also be destined for other markets.
The Ford Everest goes on sale in the third quarter of this year and is expected to be priced from $45,000 – $50,000.
