Final Bugatti Veyron has been sold, will be displayed in Geneva
The 450th and final Bugatti Veyron, dubbed La Finale, has been sold and built, and will be on display at the upcoming 2015 Geneva motor show.
Alongside it on the Geneva stage in the first week of March will be the first Bugatti Veyron. As you'd expect, Bugatti isn't revealing the identity of the purchaser of the last ever Veyron, except to say that it is a "customer from the Middle East".
Launched in 2005 as the Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4, the two-door two-seat vehicle featured an 8.0-litre W16 engine churning out 736kW (1001PS) of power and 1250Nm of torque. All that fury was sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
In 2008, Bugatti introduced an open-air model, dubbed Grand Sport, which could be manually fitted with a hardtop or a temporary soft top.
Debuting in 2010 was a more powerful version of the coupe, branded as the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. It came equipped with an updated version of the W16 motor, rated at 883kW (1200PS) and 1500Nm.
In 2012, the final major update, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, was released, and melded the open-top body with the more powerful 883kW engine.
The La Finale is based on the Grand Sport Vitesse, and has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 2.5 seconds and top speed of 431km/h.
Out of the 450 Bugatti Veyrons sold, 300 were coupes and 150 were roadsters. According to Bugatti, the average price of recently sold Veyrons is 2.3 million euros ($3.4 million) including options and customisation.
