2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 Edition 1 priced from $162,800

Available for both C63 and C63 S sedan and estate versions - only the latter, higher-performance S models are to be offered in Australia - the $7900 optional ‘Edition 1’ pack adds a host of exclusive design features and equipment including a choice of six exterior paint finishes: Polar White, Designo Diamond White Bright, Iridium Silver metallic, Palladium Silver metallic, Obsidian Black metallic and the AMG-specific finish Designo Iridium Silver Magno.

Exterior design highlights include a high-gloss black spoiler lip (sedan only), the Night Package consisting of a radiator grille twin louvre in silver chrome, side sill panel inserts in high-gloss black, mirror housings in high-gloss black, a sports exhaust system with two black-chromed twin tailpipes, waistline trim strip and window surrounds in high-gloss black, and dark-tinted thermal insulation glass for the rear glass.

Included are red highlights for the radiator grill and side mirrors, unique 19-inch forged wheels painted in matte black with red-painted rim flange, and side sports stripes in matte graphite grey.

Inside, the Edition 1 theme continues with red designo seat belts, electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats with memory function, black floor mats with “AMG” lettering and red piping, Performance steering wheel in Dinamica microfiber with flat bottom, a red 12 o’clock strip, red contrasting topstitching, steering wheel bezel in silver chrome with Edition 1 lettering, and silver-coloured aluminium paddleshifters.

Additionally, there are hard shell Performance seats up front and door-centre panels in diamond-pattern black nappa leather with red contrasting stitching, heated seats for driver and front passenger and lastly – trim in red pepper carbonfibre and light grain aluminium combination.

There are no upgrades to the Edition 1’s powertrain, which is the same twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 direct injection from the C63 S, producing 375kW and 700Nm of torque.

Performance claims for the C63 S are also expected to match the standard C63 S, which has a 0-100km/h-sprint time of 4.0sec for the sedan, and 4.1sec in estate guise.

The regular Mercedes-AMG C63 S will be priced at $154,900 (plus on-road costs), while the wagon version is $157,400.
