Under the bonnet is a version of Aston Martin's 6.0-litre V12 that the company hopes will deliver 441kW (600PS). Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The eye-catching rear wing is fashioned out of carbonfibre, as is the front splitter, front wings, rear diffuser and door casings. Combined with a race-derived lithium-ion battery, magnesium torque tube and titanium exhaust system, the special edition model has a predicted weight of 1565 kilograms, or around 100kg less than the regular V12 Vantage.
For buyers who want to take weight saving to the zenith, a carbonfibre roof, and polycarbonate rear windows and rear windscreen can also be optioned in.
On the inside, the GT3 features carbonfibre seat shells, Alcantara fake suede trim, and plenty of carbonfibre highlights.
Enlarged fenders show off the car's wider track and house the GT3's forged 19-inch alloy wheels, which are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber. Braking power is provided by ventilated carbon ceramic discs at each corner and Brembo calipers painted either black, silver, grey or yellow.
Production will be limited to just 100 units worldwide. Pricing has yet to be revealed, but the car is expected to go on sale from the third quarter of 2015.
