2015 Ford Mondeo will feature Wi-Fi hotspot as standard

The next-generation Ford Mondeo will feature Wi-Fi hotspot capability as standard thanks to its Sync 2 infotainment system.

Ford has confirmed that the new Mondeo will be the third model in its lineup, after the FG X Falcon and SZ Mark II Territory, to offer Wi-Fi hotspot functionality.

The Wi-Fi hotspot feature will be standard on all Mondeo models coming to Australia. The hotspot allows users to share a mobile internet connection with other devices, such as tablets and PCs, as well as allow any devices connected to the hotspot to communicate with each other.

All Australia-bound Mondeos will also feature automated emergency assistance dialling, which automatically dials 000 via a paired mobile phone if the car is involved in an accident where its airbags are deployed or the emergency fuel pump shut off system is engaged.

The fourth-generation Mondeo is scheduled to go on sale in Australia from the second quarter of this year, and Ford has already announced detailed specifications and engine details about the new range.
