Dodge Viper GTC available in over 25 million customisation combinations

The new-for-2015 Dodge Viper GTC variant can be customised by its future owner (almost) to their heart's content.

Among the options available to GTC buyers are 8000 exterior colours and 24,000 custom stripes. There's also 10 different alloy wheels to choose from, as well as six aero packages and a host of other standalone options.

Each custom built GTC will also feature a dashboard plaque inscribed with the customer's chosen name.

Once a set of preferred customisations has been settled on, Dodge will deliver a 1:18 scale model (below) in the specified paint scheme in order to confirm the buyer's selection.

Dodge will ensure that each Viper GTC is unique, as no two buyers will be allowed to choose the same exterior colour for their GTC within the same model year. With just 760 Vipers sold throughout 2014 in the USA, this shouldn't prove to be a problem.

According to Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Fiat Chrysler's Dodge division, this level of customisation is possible because the Viper is, essentially, hand-built in the company's low volume Conner Avenue factory in suburban Detroit.

A Fiat Chrysler employee, dubbed a Viper Concierge, will appointed as the GTC buyer's sole point of contact throughout the customisation and build process. The concierge will provide updates about the car's progress; buyers can also view photos of the GTC's journey from start to end on a special web portal.

Owners can elect to either have their car delivered, or pick it up in person and take a tour of the Conner Avenue plant.

Based on the Viper GT, the US$94,995 ($117,500) GTC features a 8.4-litre V10 engine capable of delivering 480kW of power and 813Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
