Holden Commodore SV6 : Competition gives fans the chance to name new special edition

Holden is giving fans a shot at a small slice of Australian automotive history by launching a competition to name a new 2015 Commodore special edition.

Holden’s ‘Name that Commodore’ competition kicks off today, asking fans to suggest a name for a special edition based on the 2015 Holden Commodore SV6.

The car maker says the special edition Commodore, which will be available in sedan and ute body styles, will be fitted with “a range of additional features”, including 20-inch Midnight Silver alloy wheels, a gloss black lip spoiler (sedan only) and alloy sports pedals.

To enter the competition, fans need to submit their entries on the Holden Australia Facebook page when prompted. The competition will run until January 14, with the winner to be selected by Holden’s marketing and design teams.

Along with the honour of having their suggested name on the car, the winner will also get a week loan of a new Commodore sedan or ute and receive a VF Commodore design sketch signed by Holden design director Richard Ferlazzo.

There have been some memorable special edition Commodores over the years: Collingwood, Craig Lowndes, Equipe, Esteem, International, Olympic, Storm, Thunder and Vacationer to name a few.

Get creative, and feel free to post your suggestion in the comments section below.
