Mazda 6 update – February
A revised version of the Mazda 6 sedan and wagon will hit showrooms in February.
The Japanese company has updated the Mazda 6 with a bolder front-end, including an updated grille and LED headlights, while the higher-spec models get new-look 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside there are more significant changes, including the addition of a space-saving electronic parking brake and the addition of a new, higher-resolution 7.0-inch centre display, which makes use of Mazda’s MZD Connect infotainment software that is better tuned to handle smartphone tethering for internet connectivity and social media services.

Mazda CX-5 update – Q1
The updated Mazda CX-5 will be on sale locally before the end of March, though it could be hard to tell the difference between the previous version and the mildly updated model from the exterior.
The grille and headlights have been tweaked, the latter of which include new-generation adaptive LEDs. It also gets revised daytime running and new-look tail-lights with LED signatures.
Inside, there are further changes including revised front and rear seats with extra cushioning, more sound insulation (claimed 10 per cent cabin noise reduction at highway speeds) and an electric parking brake.
The CX-5’s infotainment system gains an upgrade to the MZD Connect system that puts greater emphasis on reducing the driver’s workload for information processing.

Mazda CX-3 – Q2
A new small SUV will join the Japanese brand’s ranks in the second quarter of 2015 in the form of the Mazda CX-3.
Based on the Mazda 2 hatchback, the five-door compact SUV, with two four-cylinder Skyactiv engines available: a 2.0-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel. Both will be available with either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions, and front- or all-wheel drive will be available, too.

Mazda BT-50 update – Mid 2015
The love-it-or-hate-it styling of the Mazda BT-50 ute range will likely be ousted when the swoopy (or droopy) truck gets a facelift in 2015.
Likely to be unveiled in the first few months of the year ahead of going on sale here by September, the BT-50 is likely to adopt revised styling elements that will bring it more in to line with the current range of models.
No images have been seen yet, but expect a bolder and more aggressive front-end treatment, while the rear tail-light assemblies will likely see an overhaul, too.
Big interior changes are likely, with an update to the MZD Connect media system and some more comfort-focused revisions.

Mazda MX-5 – Second half 2015
The Mazda MX-5 sports car won’t be the biggest-selling car the brand launches in 2015, but it will arguably be its most pivotal.
The drop-top Japanese car is shorter than the car it replaces, but it is slightly wider and it is also considerably lighter – up to 100 kilograms less thanks in part to its aluminium bonnet and boot, as well as a new, more lightweight soft-top.
There will be a choice of either a 1.5-litre four-cylinder or 2.0-litre four-cylinder Skyactiv-G direct-injection petrol engine. Power figures aren’t confirmed yet, but expect less than 100kW and 170Nm in the 1.5, while the larger engine should pump out about 130kW and 200Nm.
Expect the price to be more aggressive for the new fourth-generation model, with a sub-$40,000 starting point for the iconic roadster.

Mazda 2 sedan – Q4 (unconfirmed for Australia at this stage)
The attractive Mazda 2 sedan was unveiled in November 2014, but there’s still no confirmation of whether the longer, four-door model will make it to Australia.
Mazda has told us there will be a decision on the 2 sedan in the coming months, and if it gets the green light, we’d expect to see it before the end of 2015.
The 2 sedan is powered by a the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder engines seen in the 2 hatch range (one with 79kW/139Nm, the other a slightly more efficient offering with 81kW/141Nm). The Thai-built sedan also has an option of a 1.5-ltre turbo diesel.
