The Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo has been officially unveiled, with the V8 hybrid-powered GT car now exclusively available to download and drive on Gran Turismo 6.
The result of a global Infiniti design competition intended to come up with a “pure Infiniti GT car”, the virtual concept was penned by the premium Japanese car maker’s Beijing-based design team.
Powered by both a naturally aspirated 4.5-litre V8 engine and an electric motor, the low and sleek concept features a front mid-ship/trans-axle layout, a 45:55 front/rear weight balance and numerous aerodynamic aids including front and rear diffusers, a uniquely-shaped rear spoiler and under-floor airflow control.
According to the game maker’s, the Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo’s electric motor delivers “overwhelming torque” in low-speed situations while at higher speeds, the V8 engine teams “immense power” with a “sensual exhaust note”.
Vision Gran Turismo is a project launched in August 2013 specifically for the latest iteration of the cult racing simulator that has sold more than 70 million copies worldwide since debuting in 1999.
