Infiniti Q60 Concept coupe teased ahead of Detroit reveal

Nissan's luxury marque has unveiled the first teaser image of the Infiniti Q60 Concept, which will debut at January's Detroit motor show.

At this stage Infiniti isn't letting on too much about the concept car, except that it will have "pure, well-defined contours", as well "full-sized wheels placed out at the corners".

Even from the shadowy image released by the brand, it's clear that the Q60 Concept will share a lot of the styling cues with the Q80 Inspiration (above), that was shown off in Paris earlier this year. Common visual traits include a kinked window line and the angled GT-R-style vent in the front wings, just aft of the wheels.

Based on the same platform as the Q50 sedan, the look of the Q60 Concept is likely to be translated quite faithfully into a production car, to be branded Q60, which will replace the current Q60, which is essentially a rebadged version of the earlier G coupe.

It's not known what lies underneath the Q60 Concept's skin, but it wouldn't surprise us to hear that it features a hybrid of some description or a version of the GT-R-derived drivetrain first seen on the Q50 Eau Rouge concept (above).
