The 2015 Honda CR-V Series II range has arrived in Australian showrooms with an expanded front-wheel-drive range, tweaked exterior styling and new technology, while retaining the pricing of the model it replaces.
Previously only available in entry-level VTi specification, the 114kW/190Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and front-wheel-drive drivetrain is now available in all three trim grades: $27,490 VTi manual and $29,790 auto, $33,290 VTi-S auto and $39,290 VTi-L auto (all prices before on-road costs).
Front-drive CR-V models are identically equipped to their four-wheel-drive counterparts but are $3000 cheaper.
All upgrades to Honda’s Display Audio system, which includes a central touchscreen, reverse-view camera, a HDMI port and two USB ports, and Bluetooth phone connectivity with audio streaming. The flagship VTi-L variant comes with built-in satellite navigation, while the VTi and VTi-S can stream a navigation app from their phones through the vehicle screen.
Freshening the CR-V Series II’s exterior is a new grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, LED daytime running lights, and a new Brilliant Sporty Blue metallic paint finish.
The CR-V diesel range won’t get any updates until the second half of 2015, due to those variants being sourced from a different factory (petrols are made in Thailand, diesels in the UK). The line-up continues to be offered in DTi-S 4WD manual ($38,290) and auto ($40,590) and DTi-L 4WD auto ($45,340) specifications.
