The City Hybrid shares its basic design with the regular non-hybrid City, distinguished by a signature blue-tinged strip beneath its chrome grille bar, unique lower bumper finish, LED headlights, new-look tail-light lenses, a small boot lid spoiler, and side and rear hybrid badges.
The cabin features a hybrid-specific instrument cluster and inherits the small blue and silver gearknob from the Jazz Hybrid.
Honda is yet to announce specific powertrain details, though the City Hybrid is expected to share its hardware with its hybrid hatchback and crossover siblings.
That means an 81kW/134Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine teamed to a lithium-ion battery and a 22kW/160Nm electric motor built into a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for a combined power output of 103kW.
Full details will be revealed at the City Hybrid’s unveiling next month.

The new-generation Jazz Hybrid is confirmed for Australia, though is not expected to reach our shores until the second half of 2015.
The new HR-V will be offered exclusively with a 105kW/172Nm 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine when it arrives locally in February.
