Nissan sub-compact crossover concept comes into focus

Nissan has released a second teaser image of its new sub-compact crossover concept seven days out from its debut at Brazil’s Sao Paulo motor show.

The Japanese car maker followed up last week’s shadowy image with another equally veiled shot today, though digitally brightening it brings much of the car’s design into focus.

Nissan’s signature squared-off V grille dominates the front end. It’s flanked by a pair of sharply cut horizontal LED headlights that flow into the concept’s muscular front wheel arches.

The rear shares its phantom pillar and floating roof design with the new third-generation Nissan Murano premium crossover, while boomerang-shaped tail-lights with red lenses can just been seen on the concept’s rear quarter panels.

Seemingly close to production-ready, the as-yet-unnamed concept looks similar in size to the Juke, suggesting Nissan may be considering a more utilitarian and capable crossover to complement its existing style-centric high-riding hatch.

Stay tuned for more details when Nissan takes the wraps off its crossover concept in Sao Paulo on October 28 at 8:30am (10:30pm AEST).
