Nissan teases sub-compact crossover concept

Nissan has teased a new sub-compact crossover concept in the lead up to its world premiere at the Sao Paulo motor show in Brazil later this month.

The shadowy teaser image reveals few details of Nissan’s latest show car, though hints at its adventurous nature by revealing its roof rails, muscular rear wheel arches, and high ride height.

Also visible is the crossover concept’s boomerang-shaped headlights and squared-off V-shaped grille – signatures of the latest evolution of the Japanese car maker’s modern SUV design language.

The concept looks similar in size to the Juke, suggesting Nissan may be considering a more utilitarian and capable sub-compact model to complement its urban-focused, style-centric crossover model.

Nissan’s accompanying one-line press release gave away no details other than confirming the concept would debut in Sao Paulo on October 28 at 8:30am (10:30pm AEST).

The mysterious show car will be revealed two years after Nissan unleashed the Extrem concept at the 2012 Sao Paulo show.
