The GTS Maloo – billed as the world’s most powerful ute – will cost $87,990 in manual form and $90,490 with the optional automatic transmission, making it $6500 cheaper than the GTS sedan from which it inherits its monstrous 430kW/740Nm supercharged 6.2-litre V8.
Power and equipment hikes bump the prices of the regular ClubSport sedan and Maloo ute models up by $1000 to $2300.
The entry ClubSport and Maloo variants benefit from the fitment of a hi-flow exhaust system with X-pipe intermediate and a bi-modal muffler. The enhancements liberate an extra 8kW from the naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8, now rated at 325kW and 550Nm.
The R8 versions of the ClubSport, Maloo and Tourer now come standard with the 340kW/570Nm power output that was previously part of the optional SV Enhanced package, translating to power and torque gains of 15kW and 20Nm.
All auto models now come with steering wheel-mounted paddleshifters, matching the flagship SS V Redline from the upgraded 2015 Holden Commodore range announced last week. The ClubSport R8 Tourer wagon is now available exclusively with the auto transmission, with the manual option deleted.
A number of subtle styling tweaks will also help differentiate the MY15 HSV range from the original Gen-F. The GTS gets a new Dark Stainless finish for its 20-inch forged alloy wheels while the R8s’ 20s will be finished in Tornado Grey.
Personalisation has been further enhanced with the introduction of a new high-mounted ‘Hyperflow’ performance rear spoiler for ClubSport, ClubSport R8 and GTS ($690, free on GTS), and a ‘Pitch Black Style’ option for the three R8 variants that includes black accenting on the side vents and mirror caps, as well as the sedan’s low-line spoiler and the wagon’s tailgate ($295 on Maloo R8, $395 on ClubSport R8 and Tourer).
