Hyundai Genesis AR550 concept heading to SEMA

The Hyundai Genesis AR550 is the second confirmed vehicle that will be featured in the Korean brand's portion of the SEMA show in November.

Reworked by ARK Performance, the Genesis AR550 sedan is the tuner's riposte to BMW's M cars and AMG-fettled Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Under the bonnet, a Rotrex supercharger has been affixed to Hyundai's 5.0-litre Tau V8. This, along with a free-flowing exhaust system with quad exhaust tips and upgraded engine management software, has upped the amount of power available from 313kW to 410kW.

Highlighting the car's widened stance are pumped up fenders, as well as a fat tyre and wheel package. Hyundai has yet to reveal the dimensions of the either the AR550's wheels or its Nitto tyres.

Wider front and rear bumpers are complemented by a front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser all fashioned out of carbon fibre.

Custom developed suspension helps the AR550 to sit a lot closer to the ground than regular Genesis sedans. It's also said to reduce body roll markedly and improve the sportiness of the drive. A Brembo Big Brake Kit has been fitted to the AR550 to help bring it all a halt.

The interior of the Genesis has been reportedly reworked to make it feel more like a private jet with diamond-stitched leather on both the seats and the door trims.
