2016 Lexus GS F caught on camera

A new high-powered Lexus GS F expected to arrive in 2016 has been spotted undergoing testing in Europe.

The 2016 Lexus GS F – which has been outed in prototype guise in the past – was spotted in an undisclosed location in Europe in these new images, with the car wearing chequered camouflage, with its disguise prevalent over the car’s most stylised elements, including its front and rear bumpers, side skirts and front fenders.

That front bumper is drastically different to the one seen on the more luxury-focused GS variants, with oversized air intakes and a lower spoiler - though the bold spindle grille remains. Other changes include multi-spoke lightweight alloys with low-profile tyres, and there are slotted brake rotors and large calipers visible behind the rims.

The rear of the car gains quad exhaust tips which our spies suggested means the car “is packing heat”. Other back-end changes include a new diffuser in the rear bumper, and a lip spoiler on the boot-lid.

The GS F is expected to be powered by the same 5.0-litre V8 found in the all-new RC F sports car, with power outputs of between 373kW and 410kW expected. It is set to give the Japanese luxury brand a competitor to the likes of the BMW M5, Audi RS6, Jaguar XFR-S and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.
