2015 Kia Rio to debut at Paris motor show

A revamped version of the Kia Rio hatchback will be revealed at the 2014 Paris motor show in early October.

No images of the car have yet been released, but the brand has confirmed the 2015 Kia Rio will see a "slight visual makeover" including revised exterior styling and an updated cabin.

The exterior is set to adopt a new front bumper and fog-lights, an updated grille, new alloy wheel designs (in 15-, 16- and 17-inches), and a restyled rear bumper. Two new colours - Urban Blue and Digital Yellow - will be made available.

Inside, the Rio gets revised media systems, including a new 7.0-inch display with navigation and digital radio. It's not yet clear if any models will be offered with the updated unit locally. (Image above shows current Rio interior).

Under the bonnet, Kia Australia will retain the same 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic in the S and S Premium trim levels, while a 1.6-litre direct-injection four-cylinder seen in the Si and SLi - and a new Sport variant - will be retained, with a six-speed automatic as standard.

Stay tuned for images of the new 2015 Kia Rio - which is expected to launch in Australia in January 2015. It will debut alongside a revised version of the Venga MPV (not sold locally) and the all-new Sorento SUV.

The Rio is the South Korean maker's best selling model worldwide, with more 471,000 examples sold globally in 2013.
