Koenigsegg supercar mule crashes at Nurburgring

A driver and passenger have been hospitalised after their Koenigsegg supercar prototype crashed at high speed during testing on Germany's notorious Nurburgring circuit.

The Agera R-based mule crashed heavily into barriers, according to our photographers at the track. Pictures show the Swedish supercar prototype ended up near the approach to a sharp, downhill left-hander - with severely damaged bodywork and deflated tyres hanging off bent wheel rims.

Our sources say the driver sustained the most injuries, though more information on the condition of the occupants is unknown at this point.

Koenigsegg's test had also included a One:1 before the session was brought to its premature end.
