Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake Zagato revealed

Commissioned by a European client, the Virage Shooting Brake follows 2013’s DB9 Spider Zagato Centennial and DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial models that were made for Aston Martin and Zagato enthusiasts in the US and Japan.

Zagato describes the Virage Shooting Brake as a modern interpretation of traditional Aston Martin and Zagato design, taking styling cues from the V8 Vantage and Volante models of the mid 1980s.

The Virage Shooting Brake shares its stretched, low-slung stance with last year’s coupe and convertible versions, and features similarly styled deep-set headlights and front grille and teardrop tail-lights, creating a clear family resemblance between the trio.

As its name suggests, the Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake Zagato is based on the Virage sports car, which was positioned between the DB9 and DBS before being discontinued in 2012 after just 18 months of production.

Zagato has not released technical specifications at this stage, but the Virage Shooting Brake is understood to retain its base car’s 6.0-litre V12 engine.

The Virage Shooting Brake is the second special model from Zagato this year, following the unveiling of the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato in May.
