Hyundai Australia announces lifetime capped-pricing servicing program for old and new cars

The South Korean company has also extended its roadside assist service from seven to 10 years.

Effective from September 1, the lifetime capped-price servicing program applies to all Hyundai passenger cars, SUVs and light-commercial vehicles sold over the past 28 years.

Hyundai owners will be able to look up the details of their next scheduled service online regardless of their vehicle’s age or mileage. The published maximum price will be the same across the country.

Vehicles that are currently part of Hyundai’s three-year capped-price service program will remain within that program until the end of that period before switching to the lifetime program.

The lifetime program will be integrated with a new online booking system, which will be rolled out across Hyundai dealers in the coming months.

Customers will be able to choose their service time and preferred service time and book a replacement car through the dealer-specific website.

Hyundai Australia COO John Elsworth said the changes were in response to feedback from owners.

“Ultimately, servicing any car is an inconvenience – there’s no getting away from that,” Elsworth said.

“But with capped service prices for life, which are transparent and easy to see, and a new online service booking system, we hope to reduce that inconvenience as much as possible.

“We want to make Hyundai and Hyundai dealerships as easy as possible to do business with, and make vehicle servicing a straightforward and simple process.”

All new Hyundai vehicles continue to be covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
