BMW Sale Statistics May 2007
If it was ever obvious that BMW were leading Mercedes-Benz in Australia, it would be now. The German manufacturer sold 1,497 vehicles last month, the highest ever result for May (11.7 per cent increase on last year).

Of course, we will continue to reveal yet more innovative concepts, and unveil new technologies that meet the needs of drivers in Australia." Managing director of BMW Group Australia, Guenther Seemann said
With the launch of the new E92 3 series, the Coupé's sales grew by almost 400 per cent compared to last May, (1,300 3 series). The convertible did quite well with a tad over 100 owners taking delivery.
Of course sales are not limited to just the new 3 series. The all-new E70 BMW X5 also got off to a strong start (first full month on sale), with a total of 401 of the mammoth X5's sold (93% increase on same time last year).
Diesel was again a strong seller with over 25 per cent of total BMW deliveries in May. Popular diesel models include the 120d, 320d, 530d, X3 3.0d and X5 3.0d.

Although BMW sales continue to rise, the future of the 1-series is still uncertain, will sales figures not improving, BMW in Germany are rumoured to be hard at work on a new variant.
