2015 Subaru BRZ: Suspension tweaks, styling changes for Toyota 86 twin

The 2015 Subaru BRZ on-sale now gets a range of tweaks that almost mirror those implemented on its twin model, the Toyota 86.

Subaru says the cosmetic changes include a new shark fin antenna for the exterior, while inside the car sees a new frameless rear-vision mirror and trim elements that were previously finished in silver switch to a matte carbonfibre look. The company says the car's smart key technology has been upgraded, and a new fob is available.

Three new colours are available, including crystal white pearl, ice silver metallic and WR blue pearl, with the former two shades also sold by Toyota on its 86.

Underneath, the updated BRZ sees revised suspension dampers that the Japanese brand says offer "smoother motion", and ensure "optimum contact on uneven roads produces an even more enjoyable driving experience".

No changes have been made under the bonnet, with the BRZ retaining its 2.0-litre four-cylinder 'boxer' engine producing 147kW and 205Nm.

Pricing for the BRZ remains stable, with the six-speed manual kicking off at $37,150 driveaway and the six-speed automatic at $39,730 driveaway.

Buyers of the BRZ also gain access to the brand's recently announced "lifetime" capped price servicing plan.
