2015 Kia Sorento renderings revealed

The unveiling of the 2015 Kia Sorento may still be more than two months away, but these sketches are believed to give an accurate impression of the next-generation SUV’s exterior styling.

The renderings, first published by enthusiast blog Kia World, are an artist’s impression of the new Kia Sorento based on spy shots of a heavily camouflaged prototype captured earlier this month.

Kia says the sketches are not official renderings, though they are understood to give an accurate preview of some of the car’s key design points, including its Sportage-inspired diamond-pattern grille, connecting headlights, and horizontal tail-lights.

The 2015 Kia Sorento will debut at October’s Paris motor show before going on sale in Australia early next year.

The new model will be larger than its predecessor inside and out, with a longer wheelbase creating more second- and third-row seating space to help it better compete with rivals such as the Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Kluger.

As we reported this month, the new Kia Sorento is tipped to be offered with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and a 3.3-litre V6 petrol shared with the new Kia Carnival. A 2.4-litre direct-injection four-cylinder may also feature in the line-up.
