Lotus Elise S Club Racer launches from $83,250
The Lotus Elise S Club Racer has launched in Australia from $83,250, boosting the performance of the British brand’s stripped-out entry sports car.
The Elise S Club Racer produces 162kW of power and 250Nm of torque from its supercharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, up 62kW and 90Nm over the regular 1.6-litre Elise Club Racer, which costs from $69,990.
Lotus claims the six-speed manual, rear-wheel-drive supercharged Club Racer accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 234km/h, making it 1.9sec and 30km/h quicker than the base car.
The Elise S Club Racer’s engine output and performance figures match those of the standard Elise S, which features a more comfort-oriented interior and costs an extra $1740.
The track-focused Club Racer is more than 20kg lighter than the Elise S thanks to weight reductions to the drivetrain and body, and the deletion of creature comforts such as mud flaps, remote central locking, and a cup holder.
Club Racer enhancements include sports suspension, an adjustable front anti-roll bar, and a Sport setting in the Dynamic Performance Management system, allowing owners to fine-tune the setup for road or track use. It also features satin black 16-inch alloy wheels with high-performance Yokohama Neova tyres.
Other distinguishing features include a black rear diffuser and composite sports seats with suede upholstery.
The Lotus Elise S Club Racer is available in six colours: Sky Blue, Saffron Yellow, Ardent Red, Aspen White, Matt Black and Carbon Grey.
