Skoda CitiJet concept created by apprentices for Wörthersee Festival

The Skoda CitiJet concept will be the brand's contribution to this year's Wörthersee GTI festival.

The CitiJet was created by 16 Skoda apprentices over the course of six months. Starting with a three-door Skoda Citigo — essentially a Volkswagen Up! with a mild nose job — they removed its roof, kitted it out with angled speedster-style windows, and fashioned a new rear-end look complete with an integrated spoiler. To help compensate for the lack of a roof, the CitiJet features a brace across the B-pillar.

Despite the presence of jet in its name, the CitiJet concept won't be setting any land speed records as its motivation comes from a 55kW 1.0-litre petrol engine. Behind the 16-inch alloy wheels are disc brakes up front and drums at the rear.

The CitiJet's interior features a white and red dashboard, leather coverings for the steering wheel and handbrake, red stitching, special seat covers, blue door highlights and CitiJet badging. There's also a 300-watt sound system rigged up to LED lights that beat in time with the music.

Joining the Skoda CitiJet at this year's Wörthersee show will be the Seat Ibiza Cupster concept and the Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro concept, which features a 386kW/600Nm 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo under the bonnet.
