Mitsubishi ASX updated with extra equipment, mechanical tweaks

The Mitsubishi ASX has been updated with extra equipment and a number of revisions designed to make it quieter, more efficient, more comfortable and better to drive than before.

Mitsubishi claims tweaks to the suspension lead to “improved ride comfort, handling stability and sharper, more responsive steering”.

A recalibration of the petrol model’s throttle and automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) are said to improve responsiveness and cut fuel consumption by four per cent to 7.4 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.

New tyres and added sound insulation material contribute to claimed improvements in NVH (noise, vibration, harshness).

Standard features in the Mitsubishi ASX LS include new-look 17-inch alloy wheels, daytime running lights, chrome exhaust tip and beltline moulding, privacy glass, black roof rails, emergency stop signal, gloss black centre panel with chrome highlights, black floor console garnish, and a 6.1-inch touchscreen.

The $4500 premium for the ASX XLS variant adds auto headlights and wipers, smart key with push-button start, panoramic sunroof, paddleshifters, electrochromatic rear-view mirror, leather upholstery, heated front seats, power driver’s seat, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen with 3D satellite navigation and an SD card input.
