Holden Colorado gets Walkinshaw upgrades
Walkinshaw Automotive has released two styling and suspension enhancement packages for the Holden Colorado ute.
The Walkinshaw Colorado Xtreme High Rider features a ride height raised by 50mm at the front and 15mm at the rear, while the Xtreme Low Rider is lowered by 30mm at the rear.
The unique Walkinshaw-engineered suspension package comprises Bilstein struts, front and rear dampers and bump stops, revised spring rates, and Walkinshaw-developed valve coding.
The duo is fitted with Walkinshaw’s first ever inhouse-designed 19-inch forged Graphite Black alloy wheels. The Xtreme High Rider wears Cooper Zeon LTZ 255/55R19 off-road tyres, while the Xtreme Continental Conti Cross Contact UHP 255/55R19 road tyres.
Walkinshaw claims the combination of its wheel, tyre and suspension modifications provide “dramatically improved ride and handling characteristics” and create a ride quality “more indicative of a road car”.
Both tuned Holdens also feature ‘Walkinshaw Automotive’ and ‘Xtreme’ decals, a certificate of authenticity, and a balance of new vehicle product warranty.
Each package costs $6990 and can be fitted to all current-generation two- and four-wheel-drive Colorados, while an optional LED daytime running light kit is also available from $795.
Walkinshaw plans to produce 70 Xtreme High Riders and 30 Xtreme Low Riders in July and August, and will offer more from October to suit demand.
