The official recall notice published on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website explains there is a possibility an O-ring seal located between the fuel delivery module and the wiring connector insert of the LPG tank may be missing.
“There is a potential for gas to leak from the LPG tank to the atmosphere,” the recall notice reads. “This may result in a potential fire hazard.”
Ford Australia has received no reports of any incidents or accidents relating to the defect. It will write to owners of affected vehicles encouraging them to contact their local authorised dealership for an inspection and, if necessary, rectification of the defect.
Owners are also advised to avoid parking their vehicles in confined spaces until the safety recall service is completed.
