2010 Audi RS3 spied at Nürburgring

Speculation that Audi is considering building a new RS3 variant has come to fruition, with the future pocket-rocket caught testing at the Nürburgring today.

The even more potent version of the Audi S3 is set to join the elite ranks of the performance flagship RS range, with power coming from the 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine which made its debut with the new TT-RS.

This engine is expected to develop a staggering 254kW and 450Nm – figures simply unheard of in a performance hatch.

Coupled with Audi’s proven Quattro all-wheel-drive system, performance is also expected to be roughly on par with the TT-RS – helped on by the fact the two cars will share roughly the same weight.

Acceleration from zero to 100km/h is expected to be dealt with in just 4.6 seconds with a suggested top speed of almost 290km/h.
