Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe : first images of luxury two-door leaked
The first high-resolution images of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe have been leaked ahead of its public debut at next month's Geneva motor show.
The replacement for the CL-Class, the swooping Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe was actually seen earlier this week (albeit in a blurry image taken during a Daimler presentation) before these images were published by German website autofilou.
Sharing similarities with its S-Class sedan siblings, the S-Class Coupe is a more subtle take on the design originally previewed by the 335kW/700Nm 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8-powered S-Class Coupe concept unveiled at last year's Frankfurt motor show.
Differentiating itself from the four-door S-Class range, including the high-performance S63 and S65 AMG variants, the coupe's front end features a single-bar SLS AMG-style grille with a large central star badge.
Not yet pictured, early reports suggest the luxury two-door’s interior will feature a redesigned steering wheel and a number of unique trim elements and do away with the sedan’s analogue clock.
Mercedes-Benz Australia corporate communications manager David McCarthy told CarAdvice in July the local S-Class Coupe line-up would comprise S500, S600, S63 and S65 AMG grades, with the Australian division deciding to pass on the six-cylinder variants.
More details of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe are expected to be released later this week before it takes to the stand in Geneva on March 4 and arrives on our shores in the fourth quarter of 2014.
