Ken Block unleashes Ford F-150 RaptorTrax snowcat

Known for pushing the limits, Ken Block claims to have built the ultimate snowcat, designed to take backcountry snowboarding adventures to extreme new levels.

The project started with a Ford Racing-prepared F-150 Raptor, which was then enhanced by Special Vehicle Concepts in California. The result, the Ford F-150 RaptorTrax, is being billed as the “world’s fastest snowcat”.

The truck has a number of custom external features, including a roof basket, snowboard racks, exterior stereo and plenty of lighting… and in case you missed them, four Mattracks for optimum grip and stability in fresh powder.

Hoonigan Racing Division’s Block says he’s been planning the Monster Energy branded snowmobile for a while.

“To build out this mountain assault vehicle with a Raptor as the base platform made total sense to me. It's an absolute beast of a machine and I'm stoked with how it's turned out,” Block said.

With a Whipple supercharged 6.2-litre V8, a full roll cage and Recaro seating, taking on the mountains should be a walk in the park.

It won’t be long before we get to see the wicked-looking truck in action; the Gymkhana and Global RallyCross driver has big plans.

“Next up is for me to take it deep into the backcountry ASAP to help me and some friends slay some powder on our snowboards for a video project due out later this year.”

We’ll also get a sneak peek: it’ll be on display at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado this week.
