Jaguar F-Type coupe (Q3)

There will be only one new addition to Jaguar's line-up in 2014, and it promises to be a good one. The F-Type coupe will reach our shores in the third quarter of the year, headlined by the hardtop-exclusive F-Type R. The flagship variant borrows its supercharged 404kW/680Nm 5.0-litre V8 from the XKR-S (and others) and sprints from 0-100km/h in a claimed 4.2 seconds. The R coupe benefits from a bespoke suspension set-up, a new electronic active differential and a brand-first torque vectoring system. The 1650kg F-Type R is 15kg lighter than the V8 S convertible, while the V6 and V6 S variants are both 20kg lighter than their open-roof counterparts. Boot capacity also more than doubles from 196L to 407L. Australian pricing has not been revealed, though in the UK the coupe is a little over 10 per cent cheaper than the convertible, suggesting a starting price of around $125,000 for the entry-level V6.
