Kia teases 2+2 sports car concept

Kia has teased its latest sports car concept that's set to debut at next month's Detroit auto show.

Kia says the 2+2 sports car concept was designed by its team in Irvine, California, to deliver "head-turning looks" and "superb driving enjoyment whether on the road or at the track".

The bird’s-eye view teaser image reveals a compact two-door coupe/hatchback body style – seemingly similar to the Kia Provo concept from March’s Geneva motor show, and potentially representing an evolution of that design.

The driver sits in the back half of the concept, positioned behind its long bonnet and heavily raked windscreen. Muscular wheel arches enhance the sporty silhouette.

There's no word at this stage about the concept's powertrain.

Expect more images and information to trickle out over the coming weeks before the concept debuts on Kia’s stand in Detroit on January 13.
