BMW M3 and M4 revealed in leaked images

Images of the BMW M3 and BMW M4 performance twins have leaked online just hours out from the cars' official unveiling.

The shots reveal almost every angle of the fifth-generation M3, which will be available exclusively as a four-door sedan for the first time ever, and its M4 sibling, which replaces the M3 Coupe as the two-door hardtop offering.

Full details of the cars remain under wraps for now, though information released in September confirmed the BMW M3 and M4 would both weigh “just under” 1500kg and feature a “high-revving” (7500rpm-plus) twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine producing “approximately” 316kW and peak torque “far beyond” 500Nm.

The duo is set to go on sale in Australia in roughly six months’ time in mid 2014.

Additional information on the BMW M3 and M4 remains under embargo at this stage. Check back for all the details when the embargo lifts at 10:10 AEST.
