Showing the 673kW/900Nm hybrid-powered McLaren P1 attacking the circuit with all the aural and visual stimuli that comes along with it, the nearly four-minute-long video never reveals an official lap time.

McLaren, however, revealed its P1 averaged 111mph (178.6km/h) around the 20.832km track, which translates to a lap time of approximately 6min 59.8sec. If accurate, the time would put it roughly three seconds off the pace of its hybrid hypercar rival, the

Porsche 918 Spyder, which

clinched the title of the fastest production car around the 'Ring in September with a time of 6min 57sec.

McLaren also claims the P1 hit a top speed of 330km/h, all while on a set of the car's standard road tyres.
