Retrofit components developed exclusively for the recently unveiled BMW 2 Series Coupe, the upgrades include an M Performance power kit for the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel BMW 220d Coupe.
Increasing outputs by 12kW and 40Nm, the kit ups power and torque to 147kW and 420Nm respectively, while claiming no impact on fuel consumption or CO2
For the range’s flagship, the 240kW/450Nm turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six-powered M235i Coupe, an M Performance mechanical limited-slip differential and a sports exhaust are available, alongside ‘M’-stamped chrome or carbon tailpipe trim elements.
M Performance parts available for all variants include 20mm lower sports suspension – comprising retuned dampers and red springs – and an uprated brake package with red, blue, yellow or orange brake calipers. Lightweight forged 19-inch alloy wheels are also included, offered in two styles.
Designed to work in conjunction with the M sports package and M Performance carbonfibre rear spoiler, an M Performance aerodynamic kit includes a new front lip spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser. Additional exterior accents available include a black kidney grille frame, carbonfibre mirror caps and BMW M Performance stripes.
Cabin options include an Alcantara and carbonfibre M Performance sports steering wheel with digital ‘Race Display’, a matching gear selector and handbrake lever, Alcantara and carbonfibre trim strips and steel pedals.
Replacing the seven-year-old 1 Series Coupe, the new rear-wheel-drive 2 Series Coupe is due to arrive locally early in the second quarter of 2014.
The BMW 2 Series Coupe M Performance parts range will be made available in overseas markets following the model's global launch in March 2014, with local pricing and specification information to be revealed closer to the Australian launch.
