The swan song for Mercedes' flagship two-door sports car, the Final Edition represents the last opportunity for customers to order an SLS AMG before the four-year-old model line is retired from the line-up.
Mercedes-Benz will produce 350 SLS AMG GT Final Edition cars, split between coupe and roadster body styles based on customers demand. First overseas deliveries are expected to take place in February, with the special edition a good chance to reach Australia showrooms in mid to late 2014.
The SLS AMG GT Final Edition is based on the regular GT and takes design inspiration from the track-focused Black Series variant.
Carbonfibre spans the bonnet, front splitter, mirror caps and fixed rear spoiler, while unique 10-spoke alloy wheels fill the understated arches.
Though not visible in these images, the cabin also gains splashes of lightweight carbonfibre as well as leather upholstery with contrast stitching.
There’s no special treatment for the Final Edition’s powertrain, carrying over the GT model’s 435kW/650Nm 6.2-litre V8 and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends drive to the rear wheels.
Full specifications including performance data and prices will be announced at LA and Tokyo on November 20, when the Final Edition will debut alongside the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG.
