Porsche Macan exhaust note teased

The exhaust note of the all-new Porsche Macan has been teased in a short video ahead of the luxury SUV's debut at next week's Los Angeles motor show.

While Porsche has given no indication of the engine responsible for the rorty note, it's believed to be one of the turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engines destined for the Macan; either a 3.0- or 3.6-litre, with expected power figures of 250kW and 295kW respectively.

The latest teaser follows leaked magazine images seen earlier this month and leaked slides purportedly shown at a Porsche dealer conference in Atlanta, US, in September.

Data released by the German luxury car maker last month also confirmed the existence of an entry-level diesel engine - almost certainly a 2.0-litre four-cylinder - with combined cycle fuel consumption of 6.1 litres per 100km.

The Porsche Macan will offer a premium rival to the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Range Rover Evoque when it arrives in Australian showrooms in mid 2014. Production will begin at the brand’s assembly plant in Leipzig, Germany.

Full details will be revealed at its Los Angeles debut on November 20.
