Chrysler 300S: new sporty-looking variant from $47,500

A Chrysler 300S has been added to the US large car’s line-up, bringing a sportier-looking variant available for less than $50,000.

The S version of the Chrysler 300 costs from $47,500, placing it between the $43,000 entry-level 300 Limited and high-performance SRT8 that starts from $56,000.

The Chrysler 300S features the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tyres from the V8-powered SRT8 models, wrapped around 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels.

Other sporty visual additions include black chrome grille, black headlight bezels, and bootlid spoiler.

Inside, red leather sports seats with white stitching and embroidered S logo becomes a no-cost option, the front seats come with heating, sports pedals are added, and a Piano Black finish is applied to areas such as the centre console, steering wheel and door trim.

The wood trim of the Chrysler 300C interior is also replaced with what the company refers to as matte carbon hydrographic-finished accents.

Only one engine is available with the Chrysler 300C – the 3.6-litre V6 from the base model that pumps out 210kW of power and 340Nm of torque.

Chrysler offers only two models in Australia though the brand’s sales have increased 300 per cent year on year to September – single-handedly driven by the Chrysler 300 while the Voyager people-mover struggles along.
