2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class exterior shots leaked

The full exterior design of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class looks to have been leaked onto the internet ahead of its public debut at January's Detroit motor show.

A Spanish blog site has published a number of images that have all the hallmarks of the German brand's official computer-generated picture style.

The main image of the new Mercedes C-Class shown is consistent with spy photos previously published by CarAdvice, as well as expectations the crucial mid-size luxury car would be inspired by the S-Class limo and the CLA.

The leak follows shortly after Mercedes released the first pictures and details of the new C-Class's interior.

Benz's rival to the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 will debut in sedan form initially, with wagon, coupe, convertible and even hatchback body styles to follow.

Bigger dimensions will create more cabin and boot space, as well as distancing the C-Class in size than the cheaper CLA that is longer than the outgoing C-Class.

The latest-generation C-Class sits on a new rear-wheel-drive platform that shares parts with the new S-Class as well as the upcoming GLK mid-size SUV.
