Audi A5 Coupe gets DTM Champion badges

Audi AG has released a limited edition DTM Champion version of the Audi A5 Coupe in its home market, paying tribute to its native touring car driver Mike Rockenfeller who won the 2013 season "with races to spare".

Called the A5 DTM Champion limited edition, a total 300 of the equipment and trim packages will be available in Germany, consisting of DTM badges on the door sill trims, the fenders and the side sills, 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, a fixed rear wing in body colour and aluminium-look wing mirrors.

The package is priced at 1900 Euro and will be available in Misano red, Daytona grey and Glacier white, with four engine choices - the 130kW 2.0 TDI quattro, 180kW 3.0 TDI quattro, 165kW 2.0 TFSI quattro and 200kW 3.0 TFSI quattro.

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM, or German Touring Car Masters) season in 2013 used silhouettes of the Audi RS5 coupe, BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe.

After being beaten by BMW last year, Audi returned to the top of the podium this year with Mike Rockenfeller the drivers' champion.

The Audi A5 DTM Champion limited edition will not be available in Australia.
