Mercedes-Benz uses chickens to illustrate Magic Body Control

Mercedes-Benz has released a smile-inducing new advertisement starring five farmyard chickens to illustrate the functionality of its new Magic Body Control suspension system.

Uncharacteristically light-hearted from the luxury German manufacturer, the 50-second spot teams the quintet of hens with an equally boppy Diana Ross backing track.

Without featuring a single car, the ad concludes with the tagline, ‘Stability at all times’, making the connection between the brand’s innovative camera-based suspension system and the unflustered feathered troupe.

Magic Body Control debuted in the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class in July. The system uses a front windshield-mounted camera to look 15 metres in front of the car. A computer then ‘reads’ the road surface depth and calculates when the front and rear wheels will hit the bump. The dampers can then ready themselves for the best possible response to the bump.
